Planning Our Future, Together
Infrastructure. People. Accountability.
Principles for Responsible Government
I believe that most people want a government that is like a well-maintained road or sidewalk: It should be dependable, functional, not-too-flashy, and be a reasonable path from where we are to where we want to be.
Unfortunately, we continue to elect (and then re-elect) leaders who seem to view these posts as a vanity prize, from where they can speak on social issues, personally profit, and then fail to make progress towards the goals that serve "We the People."
I promise that, if elected, I will pursue the unglamorous work of making the government, reliable, accountable, and focused on keeping all of us out of quagmires while we prepare for what is on the road ahead.
Hope for the Future
The government's core mission should be to uplift and empower every citizen. From talented youth, to hardworking families, to wizened elders, all should be welcome and have a chance to succeed.
-
First, we must tackle our infrastructure.
-
How can we build to the future we want if we still have remaining damage from Helene?
-
-
Second, our services must meet the needs of the people.
-
If we want families to have children, we need to encourage them by supporting the children that we are failing right now. We must provide for their education, their health, and their preparation for a post-AI NC.
-
-
Third, we must invest in our people.
-
If we are to expect meaningful growth for our people, we must incentivize employers to develop career opportunities for the folks who live here.
-
We must protect NC workers, farmers, and families from the threat of massive job loss.
-
-
Finally, all of the above must be done with complete transparency and accountability to the people.
